Shane Mendonsa is a composer, arranger, producer and sound engineer known for pushing boundaries in Bollywood, indie cinema and his own music. The son of Bollywood music legend Loy Mendonsa, Shane grew up in a musical home. He started off his career as a sound programmer at the local Mumbai radio station 94.6 FM.

In the early 2000’s he discovered his passion for electronic dance music, and formed Brute Force with Tuhin Mehta. They became India’s first EDM group, and toured India’s top clubs and music festivals. Their collaboration with English producer/DJ Gareth Emery on his 2009 track Arrival, from the album Northern Lights, reached #1 on the US iTunes dance charts, and #5 on the Beatport Top Ten.

In Bollywood, Shane has been the go-to guy for bringing cutting edge production and an electronic sound to Indian films, often collaborating with the renowned musical trio, Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy. He’s responsible for some of the catchy Bollywood tunes that fill the dance floors at weddings and nightclubs across India.

For the last decade, Shane has teamed up with Indian independent filmmaking duo Archana Phadke and Abhay Kumar to create unconventional soundscapes and scores for their two short films, Just That Sort of a Day and The Sixth Sense, and their debut feature Placebo. Their films have travelled to some of the world’s top festivals, including Berlin, Tribeca and IDFA.

His own music is where you can hear him constantly reinventing himself.
